Descriptions (ready to use)

One line

She buried her voice to survive. Now her music is the only thing that can save her.

Short (~50 words)

Echoes of Lyra is an emotional narrative adventure where a child who lost her voice heals through music. Explore Velaria — a world born from the feelings she couldn't face — where you don't fight enemies, you understand them. A game about grief, memory and the things we can't say out loud.

Long (~200 words)

Echoes of Lyra is the debut project of Velaria Studio, and from the very start it was never meant to be just another game. You play as Lyra, a child who buried her voice to survive and now finds herself lost in Velaria — a vast, aching world shaped from the feelings she was never able to face. Here you don't fight. Lyra's harp is her voice: you play melodies to calm what's afraid, awaken what's asleep, and reshape a world that responds to every note. The creatures you meet aren't enemies but echoes of pain, fear and loss — they don't need to be defeated, only understood. Because the game deals with childhood trauma and mental health, we chose to treat it with real care rather than spectacle: clinical psychologist Ángeles Esteban works alongside the team to make sure the story is told honestly, without ever turning pain into a costume. It's a responsibility the whole studio — artists, animators, designers and musicians, many with AAA experience, all bound together by this story — takes to heart. Made in Unreal Engine 5, with a bespoke score by composer Roberto Acebrón at its emotional core and a tone drawn from Pan's Labyrinth, A Monster Calls and The Piano, Echoes of Lyra is an intimate, hopeful journey through everything a person couldn't leave behind — and a reminder that no one should feel alone in what they carry.

I didn't want to make a game about trauma. I wanted to make one that helps people understand it — and feel a little less alone in it.

Feel, don't fight

The creatures of Velaria aren't enemies. They're echoes of pain, fear and loss — they don't need to be defeated, but understood.

A world built from emotion
