Everyone Has a Velaria

A place
Today I want to tell you about a place.
Not a place you can walk to. It has no coordinates, no map, no entrance. But it exists. And if you've ever closed your eyes and felt something inside you that you can't explain — you've been close.
What is Velaria
Velaria is the world where our story takes place. But it's not just any world.
The name comes from the Latin velum — "veil." And that's exactly what it is: a veil between what we show the world and what we keep inside. A space our mind creates to store everything we don't know how to process.
Memories we didn't know were there. Thoughts we never fully formed. Emotions we buried because we couldn't handle them at the time.
Velaria is a dreamlike place. Strange. At first glance, things might not make sense. It's not beautiful or ugly — it is what it needs to be. What our subconscious wants it to be. And everything, absolutely everything, has a meaning.
A different place for everyone
The most important thing I can say about Velaria is this: everyone has one.
For me it's a dark and vast place, where you can feel very alone. Where it's just you and your thoughts, and nothing else. For Lyra it's different. And for you it would be different too.
Because Velaria isn't a map someone designed on a computer. It's the representation of something we all carry inside — that inner world we discover little by little, sometimes in therapy, sometimes in a moment of silence, sometimes without meaning to.
In there, you find things you didn't know existed. Good things you had forgotten. And things your mind built against you — fears, defenses, walls you put up without realizing.
Why it matters
When I started writing this game, I wanted to create a place that felt real. Not real like a city or a forest — real like something you recognize even though you've never seen it. That kind of place where you arrive and think: "I've been here before."
Velaria is that. A space where music, memories, and emotions are the rules. Where what's broken can rebuild itself, but not always the way you expected. Where silence has weight, but can also heal.
I don't want to tell you much more for now. There are things that are better discovered by playing.
But I wanted you to know that this world wasn't invented in a spreadsheet. It was born from something personal. From looking inward and asking myself what I'd find there if I could see it.
Velaria is the place where Lyra has to find her voice.
But before that, it's the place where I found this story.
